Malawi: Picture Day!

It’s that time of year again at VOH Malawi. With everyone looking smart in their new school uniforms each child has their picture taken. This year we had special help from a few volunteers from Calvary Pentecostal Church in Strathroy, Ontario.

If you’re interested in sponsoring a VOH Malawi child, please fill in our Child sponsorship form.

Join us this Fall for Evening of Hope 2017! Enjoy dinner with friends and learn more about our work in Africa featuring testimonies from VOH Africa graduates Patricia and Samuel and music by Richard Chimbetete. Find out more and purchase tickets on our Events page or directly through Eventbrite.

Burundi: Celebrating Exam Results

VOH Burundi is proud of all our students who recently wrote government exams. We are also celebrating these five students in particular who scored especially high results. We provide extra tutoring for all of our children at our Bwiza Center and it really helps our students do well throughout the school year and at exam time!

Chongwe: Welcoming VOH visitors

VOH Chongwe was happy to welcome VOH Kitwe Director Everlyn Chitente and VOH Mongu Director Moses Mwiya. Both came to our Village last week!

Kitwe: Meet Catherine

VOH Kitwe would like you to meet Catherine. Catherine came to Village of Hope in 2007 after losing both of her parents at the young age of four. Her father passed away when she was just 8 months old and her mother when she was four. Catherine’s living relatives were unable to send her to school or even to provide her basic needs. Her uncle heard about VOH and registered her through Social Welfare.

When Catherine moved into one of our children’s homes, she knew her future would be bright. She is learning skills that are empowering her the future both at home and at school. Catherine is now in grade 11 and very focused and hardworking. When she graduates she wants to become a nurse!

Mongu: Soccer Tournament!

We had an amazing time with our VOH Mongu Soccer team as they battled it out with some other teams from the area this past Saturday!

The number one place went to another local team, but we are very happy to report we came in second! The boys played their hearts out in the 42-degree sun and we are very proud of these amazing guys. Our team showed great sportsmanship and real team spirit, encouraging each other throughout the day.

Mwanza: Boniphace Shares Words of Encouragement

Recently at VOH Mwanza, our young people had an opportunity to sit down with Boniphace for an encouraging talk. Boniphace is from Dar es Salaam Pentecostal Church and has been volunteering with us for the last couple of months helping where needed with administration and computer technology.

He is also a great teacher and motivator, with a huge heart for young people. He wants to see them follow God with all their hearts and succeed in life. While with us, he took lots of time to get to know our youth and to encourage them. Everyone enjoyed having him with us and we look forward to meeting again!

Zimbabwe: Executive Director Visits!

VOH Zimbabwe was happy to welcome the Executive Director of VOH Africa back to the Village this past week. We spent time together as a lead team planning for 2018.

We want to ensure we are planning and budgeting well so we can have the greatest possible impact on the lives of our children and youth. We are thankful for all of our friends and supporters who partner with us and offer financial support to help us implement the plans.

We have a new website!

In case you didn’t notice, our website got a redesign. We put together a short guided tour that walks you through all the new and updated features. We hope you like the fresh look and the updated information about our Villages and Programs!
