Mwanza: Sand Water Filters
At VOH Mwanza we were excited to have visitors come teach some of our children and staff how to build and use a sand water filter. They learned about the importance of clean drinking water and how to literally make these sand filters from scratch! They will make enough filters for each children’s home and then be able to continue the construction of the water filters as a project to help other people outside of VOH Mwanza.
Burundi: Back to School!
VOH Burundi’s preschool children are back at Bwiza Center and they are excited to return to school after a two-week Christmas break! The Village has quickly become their second home and they were extremely happy to meet their classmates and their teachers. We are very thankful for our teachers and the loving hearts that they have for our children!
Chongwe: Fun During Break
The kids from our Children’s Homes at VOH Chongwe kept busy with many different activities during the recent school break. One of their favourite things to do is play with wire cars. They are very proud they are able to build these toys for themselves!
Kenya: Welcome, Preschoolers!
Meet our newest children at the VOH Kenya School. These 24 preschoolers are attending school for the first time. They are 3 to 4 years old and have joined our baby class in our ECD (Early Childhood Development) program.
At our school, they will learn many different subjects including Swahili and English languages, Math, Christian Studies, and Social Sciences.
Each child will get breakfast and lunch daily and any medical care they may require.

Kitwe: Soccer and Basketball Fun
Our kids at VOH Kitwe really enjoy playing basketball and soccer. Today during playtime, some of the young boys were busy playing soccer while the other boys and their teacher were watching and cheering.
Malawi: Giving Back
This week at VOH Malawi we had the privilege of giving away a large donation of toys that we recently received. The kids we’re so excited as each one was given the chance to pick their very own toy!
Mongu: Puzzling
The boys in the homes at VOH Mongu were enjoying their last week of holidays by working on a puzzle together during the da. The laughter, focus, and bonding that ensued made all of our hearts melt and made us feel so blessed by the family we get to be a part of.
Zimbabwe: Back to School!
The new school year has started at VOH Zimbabwe, and as usual, on the first day back there were smiles everywhere! We are extremely thankful for everyone that contributes towards the education of these young lives making it possible for them to look forward to a bright future.
