Mountain Climbing: this week at VOH Africa

Here’s what’s happening this week at Villages of Hope-Africa…

*

Malawi: Mountain Climbing!

VOH Malawi recently held a field trip to Bunda Mountain for the children who were interested in climbing its gentle slope. It took some effort, but everyone made it to the top!

Burundi: Planning for 2017!

At VOH Burundi we had a meeting with staff members to evaluate performances over the past year and to plan for the coming year. It was a very good opportunity to review the successes and challenges and to begin planning of 2017!

Chongwe: Culture Club

The kids at VOH Chongwe are enjoying their newly formed cultural group were they are learning more about our Zambian Culture through different types of dances from across our nation of Zambia!

Kenya: Meet Ronnie

Ronnie lives in one of our children’s homes at VOH Kenya. Ronnie came to us 4 years ago when he was 6 years old. After both of his parents died, Ronnie had no one to care for him. That’s when VOH Kenya stepped in, giving him a place to live with a loving housemother and 7 house brothers and sisters.

Ronnie is a beloved member of the VOH Kenya family. He receives shelter; medical care, proper nutrition, high-quality education and most importantly: love. Ronnie is now always smiling–he lights up the room!

Kitwe: Strategic Planning

This past week at VOH Kitwe we conducted a review of our 2016 strategic plans and goals with the Executive Director of VOH Africa Sergio Bersaglio and Brian Faulkner, who has also been helping us over the past year.

We were so happy to be assisted in coming up with our 2017 strategic initiatives as we work towards our 2020 Vision for the Village.

Mongu: Music Lessons

The music lessons at our school are a vital part of what we do at VOH Mongu as we teach children to express themselves through music and to take responsibility with a new skill. We love seeing students flourish in their musical abilities and in the confidence they gain when they practice and succeed!

Zimbabwe: Grade 12 Exams

These VOH Zimbabwe girls and boys have finished writing their grade 12 national exams and are volunteering to sort library books as a way to say give back and say thank you. Thank you to all who have made a difference in these children’s lives through your generous donations!
