Mwanza: Attending Sunday School
At VOH Mwanza our children are blessed each Sunday to attend church and Sunday School at Mwanza Pentecostal Church right onsite. They learn Bible stories, life lessons, and practical truth all while having lots of fun! We’re thankful for the adults and older teens who help teach our younger ones each week.
Burundi: Fellowship Day
At VOH Burundi, we had a fellowship day with all of the caregivers of our children, Staff members, and volunteers. All of the caregivers said they never get a chance to relax and have fun and we were happy to give them the opportunity.
We believe caregivers are able to care for the VOH children better when they are not stressed with life problems all the time!
While we were together we also took the time to reinforce VOH Burundi childcare policies with everyone.
Chongwe: National Exams
VOH Chongwe Grade 9 students started writing their final Junior National Examinations this week. They have been studying in groups and feel well-prepared. We are wishing them all the best as they being to write their exams!
Kenya: Meet Carren
Meet Carren, one of the girls living in a VOH Kenya children’s home and attending the VOH School. Carren came to us when she was just 4 years old because after losing both her parents she had no one able to give her a place to live.
Carren is now a happy and well-adjusted 7-year-old who loves to go to Sunday School, sing, play games, and learn. When she grows up she wants to be a nurse!
Kitwe: New Toilets!
Malawi: New Uniforms!
This week the preschool kids at VOH Malawi wanted to show off their brand new school uniforms! How cute are they?
Mongu: Welcome, Likando!
At VOH Mongu we were so excited to have Likando fill the last space available in our Children’s Homes! Likando is 10 years old and in Grade 2, full of life and so excited to have the opportunity of both attending school and having a safe, stable environment to grow up in. She is already fitting in so well with the other girls her age and has made fast friends with Namatama and Ruthie from the other homes at VOH.
Zimbabwe: Government Clinic Outreach
From time to time, the Government of Zimbabwe uses our medical clinic at VOH Zimbabwe for their medical outreach programs. This time, children received bilharzia and worms prevention tablets. We were able to provide this care not only to children who are part of our Village of Hope homes and school but also to many others from the surrounding community.
