VOH Mongu Greenhouse: this week at VOH Africa

Check out what’s been going on this week at Villages of Hope-Africa…

Mongu: New Greenhouse!

Everyone at VOH Mongu is so excited about the brand new greenhouse on the base of VOH. Situated just beneath our six children’s homes, we will use it to teach the children different agricultural and farming techniques. Using a hydroponics system, we will also be able to grow fruit and vegetables in it throughout the year to help supply our VOH homes and school!

Burundi: Back to School

After a one-month recess, school is back in session at VOH Burundi for the final term of the year. Our children are happy to receive their new school supplies and to show up to class fully prepared. Education plays a key role in the care we provide for our children, and we are thankful for our supporters that make it possible!

Chongwe: New Science Lab!

Students and teachers at VOH Chongwe are excited to see the set-up of our new Science laboratory completed. Having this new science lab gives our students lots of time and opportunity to study and prepare for their upcoming government examinations. They are especially excited to begin carrying out science experiments!

Kenya: Back to School!

This week at VOH Kenya our primary school students have returned from their month-long school break, refreshed and ready for Term 3 of the Kenyan school year. Today’s classes opened up with a full school assembly. All the children and teachers sang and prayed together.

Teachers gave instructions and encouragement to the students for the final term of the school year. Welcome back VOH Kenya students! Looking forward to a great term!

Kitwe: Welcoming Julius Kenyamanyara

VOH Kitwe was honored to have Julius Kenyamanyara, the VOH Mwanza Director, come and visit our Village. During our tour, we spent some time at the preschool, and the children made him feel really welcome and at home. They were excited to meet someone from another African country!

Malawi: Letters to Sponsors!

This week at VOH Malawi the kids are working hard on their sponsorship letters. They love coloring the pictures and sending a special message to their sponsor! Find out about sponsoring a child at: vohafrica.com/child-sponsorship

Mwanza: Welcome, Emily!

VOH Mwanza Primary School is happy to welcome Emily from Canada. Emily cousins with Directors Jade and Julius. She will be staying in Mwanza for 6 months volunteering at Village of Hope, mostly in the Pre-School.

Emily started this week in the Kindergarten Class and has been getting to know all of the children. The children gave her a warm welcome and love having her in their class. Emily is pretty excited as well!
