Check out what’s been going on this week at Villages of Hope-Africa…

Mongu: Field Trip!
The mothers at the VOH Mongu Children’s Homes organized a trip for the older children in the homes to see the new Kalabo bridge right outside of Mongu and go to the newly opened Hungry Lion takeaway for a fun day outing.
Everyone loved the short road trip and were in awe of the bridges across the flood plains. The children also had fun playing in the water, skipping stones, and playing with their siblings at the riverbanks.
The outing ended with fried chicken, cool drinks, and biscuits from Hungry Lion.
We love watching the mothers, children, and aunties grow together as a family!
Burundi: Child Sponsorship
VOH Burundi would like to thank everyone who supports VOH Africa’s work and we want you to know that your commitment is showing great results in the lives of our children. Young Alphonse, who is pictured with some of his friends here, has changed completely since joining the VOH family. When he first came he was quiet and sad all of the time, but now, as you can see he is happy and is enjoying his new family at Village of Hope! Chongwe: Back to School!
The children at VOH Chongwe are happy and excited to be back at school after their first term break! They are looking forward to a good second term and are happy to reunite with their friends and spend extra time at our playhouse and swings.
Kenya: Highschool Construction
Construction of the foundation of the high school has begun. This is an exciting time for VOH Kenya. The surrounding community is anxiously watching the process of this building project, as are the teachers and students.
The new high school is an asset to the community, as it will offer local children the quality education they need to succeed.
When completed, the high school will consist of 4 classrooms for Grades 9-12, a science lab, computer lab, library, kitchen, and administration office.
We want to send a big thank you to our supporters who have made this high school a reality!
Kitwe: Chicken-Rearing
Malawi: Reunited!
A while back we shared that some of the children in our children’s homes here at VOH Malawi went on holiday to visit their extended families. Today we wanted to share some pictures from their joyful return back to Village of Hope. Everyone was so glad to see them. There were hugs, smiles, and lots of new stories to share.
Zimbabwe: Mission Zimbabwe
VOH Zimbabwe was blessed to receive a Mission Zimbabwe team once again this year. One of the many things they did while we were together was to conduct a volleyball coaching clinic for teachers from all around our province. This training will ultimately impact our children as they will improve as a result of the training that their coaches have received. It was also a great opportunity to be able to show others from our area the care provided to our children here at the Village.
