Tell us a bit about your life and how you came to Village of Hope…

Before coming to VOH I used to stay with my parents and they were deacons at Upper-room Fellowship, which is one of the churches in the Pentecostal Assemblies of Zimbabwe.

When both my parents passed on, my young brother and I did not have anywhere else to go and because my parents were friends with Rev. Murray Cornelius we knew about VOH Zimbabwe and we came and started staying at Village of Hope.

What are you doing now and what are your plans for the future?

At the moment I am studying for a degree in Accounting at the National University of Science and Technology. I am currently in my third year and am doing my industrial attachment at Minerva Risk Advisors.

In terms of my career, I would want to become a chartered accountant in the end. I want to continue with my education after I graduate from University and hopefully end up articling with one of the best accounting firms in Zimbabwe so as to achieve my dream.

I also want to partner with the VOH and help out in any and every way that I can so as to give hope for the future of other children, just as I was also given hope.

How would you say Village of Hope has helped you?

Village of Hope has been my home and will always be my home. For me to be where I am and be what I am today it is because the VOH played a major role in my life.

First of all, VOH gave me Jesus and I am forever grateful for that. I gave my life to Christ in 2008 at the age of 15 and I’ve never been the same since then and that has turned out to be the best decision that I ever made.

Through continuing to go to church, I realized I could add a voice in the praise and worship team and later on join a gospel music band called D28.

I was also able to go to a good school and also get a good education and was surrounded by people who motivated me and always gave me a reason to push on. I managed to pass in my studies and get to where I am today.

Through staying at the VOH homes, God gave me a family and I now have many brothers and sisters. I managed to experience the love, joy, and happiness that comes with having a family. This helped me be a person that can show others love and also be able to receive love from others.

I’ll forever be grateful for the VOH and happy with the fact that many others are going to get the opportunities I got, too.

In short, the VOH gave me hope for my future.
