VOH Chongwe High School: This Week at Villages of Hope

Check out what's been going on this week at Villages of Hope-Africa...

VOH Chongwe High School

10.02.2015 CHONGWEHere in Zambia, receiving an education is a blessing; but sadly, many children are not able to attend school. Even fewer students have the opportunity to continue their education into the high school years.

At VOH Chongwe we are very excited to begin construction on the first phase of our High School! The building is scheduled to be complete in time for the beginning of the new school year in January 2016.

School Supplies for VOH Burundi!

10.02.2015 BURUNDIThe children at VOH Burundi were all smiles as we met at the Bwiza Center two days before the start of the new school year to pass out new school supplies. They received school bags, books, pens, shoes, and other basic school requirements. We wish our children great success during this new school year!

VOH Kenya Lead Team

10.02.2015 KENYAAt VOH Kenya we believe that one of the keys to a successful organization is to have a clear organizational structure and strong, united leadership. This is why a new organizational structure has been developed and approved by the VOH Kenya lead team.

The lead team consists of the director, administrator, and heads of each department at the Village. This team meets together regularly to plan and strategize for today as well is into the future.

At Village of Hope we are a team, a family, connected by the common goal of transforming lives, one child at a time.

Peter Enrols in Bible School

10.02.2015 KITWEFormer students of VOH Kitwe have gone out and taken up many different careers and are making a living for themselves and, in many cases, also supporting siblings and other living family members.

We also see many of these young adults have a desire to give back. This week, we would love to share a report of one of them, who is fulfilling his dream to become a Pastor.

Peter has enrolled in Bible School! Peter came to VOH in June 2000 at the age of 10. We recall how he gave his life to the Lord, after a team from Canada presented the gospel to the children and showed the Jesus Film. He has since displayed a call on his life. Before he graduated high school at VOH, he participated in the school chapel several times.

We wish Peter God’s richest blessing on his life as he prepares for ministry.

VOH Malawi Dancing Queens

10.02.2015 MALAWIAt the beginning of September, one of our VOH Malawi staff member’s granddaughters got married. To honor the occasion they invited the VOH Malawi Dancing Queens to dance for the bride and groom. The entire community came to watch our talented dancers and we were so proud of their excellent performance!

Hope for Munu!

10.02.2015 MONGUVOH Mongu is pleased to share with you that little Munu has been discharged from the feeding program and has shown so much improvement!

Munu joined the feeding program in March, weighing 7,32kgs. He had severe swelling of all his limbs and could not crawl or walk. Munu will turn two this week and is now a healthy, happy little boy. On the program he gained over 2kgs, is walking and loves to play!

His mother is also very excited to be able to care for Munu properly as she has learned many vital parenting skills through the program.
