Check out what's been going on this week at Villages of Hope-Africa...

Samson Graduates!

09.25.2015 BURUNDIVOH Burundi is happy to share pictures of Samson, one of our sons who graduated this week. Before joining VOH Burundi, Samson struggled with his daily life, and his school requirements in particular. Orphan and Brother of 7 siblings, he couldn’t afford the price of education. God connected him to VOH Burundi through the Burundi Assemblies of God Church. Samson’s life conditions were very tough as an orphan in a big family without any income, but he was able to move into the youth home at VOH Bwiza Centre and live safely and have his needs cared for while completing his education. VOH Burundi celebrates together with Samson and his relatives as he reaches this important step in his life

Congratulations Samson, we wish you to become an extraordinary electrician!

VOH Chongwe Welcomes Darlene Whittaker

09.25.2015 CHONGWEVOH Chongwe was so blessed to welcome Darlene Whittaker, her two daughters, and her brother and sister visiting from Alberta, Canada. The VOH children presented beautiful poems, dances, and songs for them upon their arrival at the Village. It was with great pleasure that we once again received them as our visitors.

We thank God for their love and dedicated support towards the ministry. During their visit, the Whittaker family participated in the feeding program, bought water dispensers for each classroom, and gave out shoes and bags to 500 children. They also helped with much-needed painting at the school.

It was wonderful to be reunited with these friends!

School Supplies for VOH Kenya

09.25.2015 KENYAThis week, VOH Kenya received a visit from Kirk Kauffeldt, PAOC Global Education Director from Canada. He is a longtime friend of VOH Kenya! Kirk blessed the children’s homes with a large assortment of new educational books, dictionaries, and homework resources. This donation will enhance the children’s education outside of their regular school classes. We are thankful for the generosity and kindness of our Canadian friends when they visit.

HIV Training at VOH Kitwe

09.25.2015 KITWEVOH Kitwe high school students received refresher training in HIV and Aids Education from an organization called Beacon of Hope, which brings AIDS Prevention Education to Africa. This organization is based in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Zambia. The officers in Zambia were first connected to VOH Kitwe through our Kachimfya Youth Empowerment Program.

When we heard wonderful reports from the Kachimfya Students, we agreed to invite them to come back and train our students at the school as well. It was also a privilege to have the International President, Mr. Glynn Smith, as one of the facilitators of the program. Our students will undergo this training for 2 days, concluding with a Jesus Film and a certification of attendance.

To all this, we simply confirm that VOH Africa is making a difference in the lives of the children.

Safety Training at VOH Mongu

09.25.2015 MONGUWith the start of the third term, the teachers at VOH Mongu School taught lessons in their classes on how to keep and stay safe. From preschool to grade 7, our students learned about their rights and responsibilities, what is safe and unsafe, and what to do when they are feeling unsafe.

It is important to us that our children understand they are truly valued children of God, and that we give them the tools to act in such a way.

Hope at VOH Mwanza

09.25.2015 MWANZAAt VOH Mwanza it’s always great to see the kids laughing and smiling and playing together. These kids come from very difficult backgrounds and have been through a lot. We’re so thankful that we have the opportunity to give them HOPE and not just any hope –a hope that is found in Jesus Christ. We know this hope will change their lives and it’s so exciting to be part of their stories.
