Check out what's been going on this week at Villages of Hope-Africa...
VOH Mongu Pediatric Hospital
We are excited to be starting phase one building of our new pediatric hospital at VOH Mongu. This will be the only hospital specializing in pediatrics in the area and will help a lot of children in the surrounding community. We are thankful to everyone who helped us come up with an amazing design for the hospital and look forward to seeing this project completed in the coming months.
VOH Burundi Wedding!
VOH Burundi is very happy and proud to celebrate with Josephine Fundi, our first daughter to get married! We wish her and her husband, all the blessings as they begin their lives together. We are thankful for God’s love for children in need and that He uses VOH Burundi to bring back hope into their lives!
VOH Chongwe Thankful for Volunteers
VOH Chongwe appreciates the commitment and dedication of our faithful volunteers and partners who offer their time at the Village. This week we are bidding farewell to Jen who came from Ontario, Canada with a small group and spent her time running Vocational Bible School and working with the teachers. We will be sorry to see Jen go!
VOH Kenya Highschool Students
VOH Kenya would like you to meet Lavender and Fanuel–both grade 8 students who will be starting High school this fall. We have temporary classrooms for our first grade 8 students while construction of our high school building is underway. Lavender believes going to high school will help her fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse. She wants to be a nurse “so that she can help make sick people better!” Fanuel wants to go to high school to bring him closer to achieving his future goal of becoming an electrical engineer. We wish them both all the best in this next phase of their lives!
VOH Malawi CCP Photoshoot!
VOH Mwanza Hosts Teaching Team
VOH Mwanza was happy to host a teaching team from Langley, BC last week. The team started at VOH Kenya and then came to Tanzania and spent four days training our teaching staff at the Village. It was a really great time of learning that everyone enjoyed and we received a lot of positive feedback from the teachers about the things they learned. We appreciate Garry and Veeran and his family for coming all this way to help us grow. As we say here in Tanzania, “Karibu Tena!” (Welcome back!)
VBS at VOH Zimbabwe
The children at VOH Zimbabwe had a lot of fun at the Vacation Bible School program held last week. There were games, races, dress-up, and of course times of learning from the Bible. The VBS added a lot of fun to the week and we are thankful to everyone who helped make it happen!
