Drug Awareness Training: This week at Villages of Hope

Check out what's been going on this week at Villages of Hope-Africa...

Drug Awareness Training

CHONGWE
VOH Chongwe was blessed to have the DEC (Drug Enforcement Commission) come and sensitize our children, care givers, and staff on the negative effects of drug abuse and the negative effects that drug abuse can have on the body. We learned a lot and everyone responded very well to the teaching.

Games at VOH Kitwe

KITWE
During VOH Kitwe’s Kachinfya youth empowerment program, after enjoying computer lessons and other classes, the students are given the opportunity to go outside and play different games. Some of their favorite games include Chess, Rounders, and Handball. These games help the students sharpen their minds and keep fit.The students are all enjoying the well-rounded program. There are over 200 students enrolled in the Kachinfya program, some are graduates from the VOH School and others are joining the VOH family for the first time.

VOH Malawi Teacher Training

MALAWI

This week at VOH Malawi the teachers participated in two days of training during the midterm break. The workshop was led by the school’s headmaster, Chimwemwe.

It’s very important to continuously improve teaching skills and learn new methods in order to provide a positive learning environment and give our students the best education possible.

The teachers had a refreshing, fun and educational time together!

VOH Kenya believes by teaching the children the important skills that are traditional to their area, they will feel more confident and capable today and in the years to come!

Giving Warmth at VOH Mongu

MONGU

It’s starting to get really cold here at VOH Mongu! Two of our children from the feeding program came to our Save a Life center today shivering in shorts and open shoes. We were able to give them some winter clothes, which they were very delighted to receive. Thank you to everyone who supports VOH Mongu, and makes stories like this possible.

New Home for Josephina!

MWANZA

VOH Mwanza recently said goodbye to one of our youngest girls, Josephina, because a local Tanzanian family has adopted her. This same family had already adopted one of our little boys a couple of years ago and they are providing him with a good and loving home.

Goodbyes are never easy and we will miss Josephina, but we are so happy she has a new home and a new family where we know she will be happy and taken care of.
