Baby Emmanuel
Adorable Emmanuel was born on Christmas day weighing 1.2 kg. After his mother developed mastitis, she and his granny walked 10 hours to look for assistance with formula milk. We were able to discharge this beautiful family from the centre this week, with Emmanuel weighing 1.76kg! They will return to their village in the flood plains now that mom is able to feed Emmanuel on her own. We are thankful this family came to us for help so early, allowing us to properly care for and prevent malnourishment through our emergency care.
Money Management at VOH Malawi
Recently the staff at VOH Malawi held a training session on money management. Our trainer is Sylvia and she had all of our staff outside playing an icebreaker game as well. The staff came away with a lot of skills that not only help them in their job at Village of Hope but also in their personal lives.
VOH Zimbabwe Students Pass with Flying Colours!
VOH Zimbabwe received results for their first O level exams this past week. We are proud of the youth from the homes that received excellent results and are ready to move to Form 5!
Expanding the VOH Chongwe Family
VOH Chongwe is blessed to have two girls added to our Chongwe family. The girls went through hard times while staying with their grandmother after the death of their parents and are so happy and filled with joy to be in the Children’s Homes. Senior Mother (Mother Agness) welcomes the two girls Dainess & Justina to their new loving and caring home.
Library Studying at VOH Kitwe
The library at VOH Kitwe provides older students with a place to conduct research for their school assignments, and younger students the opportunity to read story books and have stories read to them. Attending library sessions is one of the students’ favorite activities. In this picture the grade 5 class is doing research for an assignment and being helped by the school librarian who is always available to encourage and assist.

ICYMI: Director’s Blog January 2014
My challenge to myself and to you is to fight the temptation to be busy for busyness sake. Take more time for relationship, things that cannot be measured in this lifetime. So in the midst of all that needs to be done this coming year, I hope to be able to keep things in perspective and never lose sight of this valuable truth Thomas Merton pointed out to me. I also hope to value others not based on what they do or accomplish, but on who they are as people… Read Here
