VOH Chongwe (Zambia) Update: Preparing for Government Exams
Our VOH Chongwe grade 12 students are in preparation for their final set of national government examinations. These required exams are important because they assess how well the students are learning their school curriculum. Our dedicated teaching staff has committed to teaching all the required curriculum to ensure our students are well-prepared despite COVID-19 challenges. When our students could not come to the Centre due to lockdowns, they prepared and delivered lessons and homework to them at their homes in the community. The teachers went the extra mile by sacrificing some of their time during school holidays to contact their students and provide any additional help they needed. As a final preparation, our teachers take our students through past examination papers to ensure they are ready to face the coming examinations. We continue to pray that our children’s hard work will give them good results. We are confident that our students will pass the upcoming exams and be ready for whatever paths they choose next.

VOH Mwanza (Tanzania) Update: When We Grow Up!
This week at VOH Mwanza, we helped our grade 3 children dress up as what they want to be when they grow up. Asteria is in grade 2, and she wants to be a doctor. Collins and Saidi are both in grade 1, and they want to be engineers. Precious is in grade 1, and she wants to be a chef! We are excited to see our children aspiring to be contributing members of their communities. It is also exciting to see our staff become role models for our children in their career aspirations. Dr. Catheryn has influenced one of the kids to aspire to be a doctor one day. We will continue setting a sound foundation to help our children reach their dreams!
VOH Zimbabwe Update: Greenhouse Project
We are harvesting our greenhouse crop at VOH Zimbabwe this week! Our children take care of the crops from planting to harvesting and even sell some to members of our community. We teach the children to be self-sustaining through projects like this that require minimal financial input but have a high output. Through this project, we are guaranteed at least three months of consistent harvests with crops like tomatoes. So far, the project is going well, and the excitement is high as everyone sees the success of their hard work!
