Community Outreach: this week at VOH Africa

Here’s what’s happening this week at Villages of Hope-Africa…

Kitwe: Community Outreach

Some of the VOH Kitwe leadership and staff took part in a community outreach program to visit the homes of four elderly adults and their families who are living in one of the poorest areas in the neighbouring community.

This grandmother is taking care of her two grandchildren and they are currently not in school because she is not able to pay the fees. Their house fell in 2015 and right now they live in only a half building.

Through our outreach programme, VOH Kitwe will be able to help her as she raises her grandchildren.

Being able to make these types of visits allows us to show God’s love first-hand to those in need around us!

Burundi: Giving Thanks

After the VOH Burundi girls and boys succeeded in their national exams, they decided to organise a thanksgiving celebration during our Church service. They sang together and gave a special offering as a sign of appreciation for all that God has done for them.

Kenya: Meet Tracy

Meet Tracy, a bright young girl in our grade 3 class at VOH Kenya. Tracey lives in the community near the Village and attends our school and feeding program each day. She has 7 brothers and she’s the only girl in the family. She’s such a sweet and caring girl. At school, she loves to read and write.

Tracy wants to be a pilot when she grows up and she believes that now, thanks to Village of Hope, her future looks bright!

Mongu: Faith Joins Save a Life

Faith was admitted to VOH Mongu’s Save A Life Feeding Program. She is 6 months old and only weighs 4.06kgs, about the weight for a 2-3-month-old.

We are excited to have Faith and her mother coming to the feeding program and know God has great plans for this sweet family!

Zimbabwe: Donation Blessing!

At VOH Zimbabwe we were blessed to receive a container full of clothing as well as household, office, and school supplies from friends of the Village who live in Dubai. These items will go a long way in making our children’s lives better and will also help shape their futures. We are very thankful for all of our friends who come alongside as we work together to provide care for the VOH children.
