Check out what’s been going on this week at Villages of Hope-Africa…

Chongwe: New Computer Lab!
VOH Chongwe is thankful for our new computer lab! The students are excited and happy to learn in the new lab as they prepare for their examinations. It is also vitally important that students learn to use computers to improve their work and prepare for careers in a world where computers have become as common as pencil and paper.
Burundi: Visiting Family
It is always important to us at VOH Burundi that the children living in our children’s homes are given the opportunity to visit their extended families from time to time when possible. This helps them to stay connected and united as a family. Princia was super happy to have the chance to visit her sister and her grandmother!
Kenya: Reusable Resources
In Kenya, children find fun in everyday reusable materials. Things like old tires become children’s playthings or a good place to relax and talk with friends. These children from VOH Kenya are using tires to relax on and visit one another. They also have lots of fun rolling them around the schoolyard during their recess break.
Kitwe: Visiting Malawi
Last week VOH Kitwe Director, Everlyn Chitente, was invited to be a guest speaker at an international woman’s conference being held in Malawi. She spoke about our responsibilities to the vulnerable children and widows among us.
While there, Everlyn had the opportunity to meet the founder of an organization that supplies “The Shoe That Grows.” She was sent back to Kitwe with a sample pair of shoes and a promise that VOH Kitwe would receive more shoes for the children at the Village.
What a happy and unexpected surprise coming from her Malawi visit!
Malawi: New Shoes!
Our twins Edina and Ephraim just keep laughing and clapping. They are so happy.
Mongu: Tacos4Life
Every year, a company from Arkansas, USA called Tacos4Life, puts together a food container that packs and sends nutritious, easy to cook meals called Manna Packs to organizations and feeding programs across Africa.
VOH Mongu is blessed to be one of the organizations that receive these amazing meals to help feed our school children, their families, and others in the community that struggle with food uncertainty.
These Manna Pack meals just came in and we are so excited to begin using them and distributing them from our VOH Community School to those in our surrounding area!
Zimbabwe: Book Donation
VOH Zimbabwe teachers enjoyed sorting through a donation of 16 boxes of books that we just received from Books for Africa. These books will be a big help in the classrooms at the Village! We are always very grateful when other organizations come alongside and support our ministry.
Latest Blog: “Meet Naomie”
VOH Burundi is a real miracle to my children and me. One day, I heard from a friend who attends Burundi Assemblies of God Church that there was an opportunity to apply to receive help for orphans. I went there and asked for help for the three children that I was caring for… Read more
