Tell us a bit about your life and how you came to Village of Hope…

Before I came to Village of Hope I was living with my grandparents and my four brothers.

My parents passed away when I was three years old in 2000. My grandparents were trying their best to help me, but they were still finding it difficult to look after me because they were very old.

I came to VOH Malawi and started school when I was ten years old. My house mom’s name was Beatrice, and I stayed in her care until I graduated. I also have very good sponsors: Uncle Allan, and Aunt Pat, who love me very much.

I thank God for saving my life, I know he has good plans for me, as said in Jeremiah 29:11.

What are you doing now and what are your plans for the future?

I’m studying difference courses at Kachimfya at VOH Kitwe. I am learning computers, sewing, agriculture, music, communication skills, sound engineering, and English. I am learning a lot of different skills.

After completing the Kachimfya program, my plan is to study education. I want to become a teacher, working in either a government or private school.

How would you say Village of Hope has helped you?

Village of Hope helped me a lot. It helped me academically, spiritually, and physically. Firstly, it helped me in the way I see myself today. When I first came to VOH I couldn’t read well, but through the help of VOH now I know how to read and write and even speak good English.

Secondly, when I came to VOH I didn’t know how to say the Lord’s prayer, but now I can say it. I also became born again there through preachings at church services.

Lastly, VOH taught me how to take good care of myself and how to live with other people around me.

Any final words?

I thank Village of Hope so much because it has changed my life. I am where I am today because of VOH. I also thank God for leading me to VOH–may God bless you as you are doing His work.
