We love to catch up with the graduates of Villages of Hope to see what they are up to and how they are contributing to their communities, which is why we created this series called “Where are They Now?”

About Paul Julius
Location: VOH (Starehe) Mwanza
Been a part of Villages of Hope since: 1997 (6 months old)
What is your story before connecting with Village of Hope?
Where there seems to be no hope, God opens doors. It was in August 1996 when she brought me into this world. After a few days once she’d recovered, she abandoned me and I was left there with the doctor for six months.
After that, I was brought to Village of Hope (Starehe) Mwanza! A place where I found hope and grew up.
God brought me here, so I call it home.
What are you doing now?
I just finished a year working at Isamilo International School.
What are your dreams for the future?
Hopefully in August I will go to a mining college in Dodoma (Tanzania).
How has VOH helped you become the person you are today?
Well, it’s uncountable and I can’t explain! It’s a lot!
All the school support and the education I was given, clothes, food, and food never runs out.
All our needs are met and we are treated very well.
I am still, looking at the future and thinking about what I want to do – VOH has always been there to plan ahead for me.
Speaking from my heart, if it wasn’t for these – God’s people – I don’t think I would be where I am today. VOH has opened talents, new experiences, skills, and many more.
I love VOH! Thank you very much!
