VOH Bwiza (Burundi) Update: Decorating our Christmas Tree!
At VOH Bwiza, the children decorated a Christmas tree for the holidays. Here in Burundi, Christmas trees are becoming more common and are viewed as a reminder about God the Creator and the gift of His son Jesus. The kids were excited to see the tree and to put some decorations on it!
VOH Chongwe (Zambia) Update: Happy Holidays from VOH Chongwe!
Everyone at VOH Chongwe has been busy with Christmas and New Years’ preparations! The mothers and children are excited for 2021. The children are also writing letters to their friends and wishing them the very best for the holiday season!
VOH Kitwe (Zambia) Update: Supporting Families During the Holidays
During the festive season, we learned that one of our VOH students, Ruth, was struggling because her mother was ill and her grandmother was struggling to care for her. We visited Ruth’s family at home and brought them some food, including chicken, milk, sugar, bread, butter, and mealie meal. Ruth’s family was so delighted and very grateful for the gesture shown to them by the VOH Kitwe family.
VOH Luongo (Zambia) Update: Christmas Party!
During the holidays, the VOH Luongo children and staff put together a Christmas party, which they had this past week. This is an exciting time because most of the children do not have Christmas celebrations in their homes, but thanks to VOH, they celebrated Christmas together with their teachers. They had lots of fun making these special Christmas posters for decorating!
VOH Malawi Update: Hawa’s Christmas Gift
This week at VOH Malawi Hawa had a very exciting day when she had the chance to open a Christmas gift from her sponsor. Hawa was so excited and happy to see everything in her gift. Her mum was also there with her and it was nice for them to share that moment. We would like to say a special thanks to every sponsor who sent a special Christmas message or gift to your sponsor child, it is so meaningful to the children and their families when they receive a letter or gift from you. VOH Maramvya (Burundi) Update: Making Christmas Cards
During the holiday season, the children at VOH Maramvya were busy making special cards for Christmas and the holidays. The stickers they used are made from the dry stalks of banana trees. They wanted to find a special way to wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to their parents, sponsors, and teachers, who love and support them throughout the year!
VOH Mongu (Zambia) Update: Thanks, Mubiana!
The Christmas holidays were a busy time here at VOH Mongu! While other kids were busy putting up Christmas decorations around the Village, Mubiana was doing his part by looking after our chicken coop. These skills will be useful for a lifetime and we love how Mubiana is learning to care for the chickens and supporting his VOH family in the process!
