Chongwe: Ministry of Health Shows Support

VOH Chongwe is so thankful to the Zambian Ministry of Health for their continued support of our clinic. Today as a way to recognize and appreciate the good work that we are doing they donated a file cabinet that will be used to store medicines and other clinic supplies!

Burundi: Florence’s Story

VOH Burundi is very happy to note how much our children have been positively impacted by the care we offer them. Florence was a desperate girl who lost her father and when her mother got remarried her stepfather didn’t want to care for her or her sister. Village Of Hope provided her shelter and education and once again Florence had hope for her future. Her smile reveals all about how her life has changed since we first met her in 2009!

Kitwe: Meet Mirriam

VOH Kitwe would like to introduce 3-year-old Mirriam who is living in one of our children’s homes in the Village. Mirriam’s mother was found unable to care for her by the Zambian Ministry of Social Welfare and her father’s whereabouts are unknown.

Despite this challenging start to life, Mirriam has found a home and family at Village of Hope. She attends the baby class (for those too young for preschool) that is run by a group of house mothers. She has found friends, toys, and plays sports with others at VOH. She always loves to occupy herself with healthy activities of the day. Her smile is pure and contagious!

Malawi: PAOC Missions Director Visits

At VOH Malawi we were so excited to have Murray Cornelius visit us. Murray is the Executive Director for International Missions for the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. It was really special to have him with us. The grade one students were so proud to show him their English workbooks and demonstrate the English they’ve been learning. What a great visit!

Mongu: Science Experiment!

Recently, the children at VOH Mongu enjoyed a science experiment to see how they can make an egg float. The children worked in small groups to compare the salinity of rivers, oceans, and the Dead Sea and observed how an egg will respond in each body of water. They were very excited to see the egg immediately float in the Dead Sea-like water!

Mwanza: Meet Deusi

Deusi is the Head of Maintenance at VOH Mwanza. He is an incredibly hard-working and compassionate man. He is always on his feet, busy making sure everything is working well and is safe for our children. He loves the kids and often has several little (or bigger) helpers working with him. He is also helping to train some of our youth on basic maintenance and some construction and carpentry skills. He is very humble and everyone loves Uncle Deusi. We are so grateful for such a wonderful example for all of our children to follow!

Zimbabwe: Container Arrives from Canada!

It was a joyful time at VOH Zimbabwe when we received a container sent to us by our friends at Bethel Pentecostal Assembly in Ontario. The container was loaded with school furniture, books, toys, and grounds equipment. These items will go a long way in helping us provide care for our children, mothers, and teachers. Many thanks to the people who continue to help bring hope to the children of Village of Hope!
