Sergio Bersaglio visits VOH Burundi

We were very happy to have Uncle Serge visit VOH Burundi! We had a fruitful session of training with him about how to care for the children. We were excited to learn that in addition to providing food, education, and healthcare, we are also meant to help the children grow into good followers of Christ. Children have to understand why they follow Christ and it’s important to start discipling them while they are young.

We appreciate so much all of the input and training we receive related to our care for the VOH Burundi children.

Meet Mrs. Mpange

The VOH Chongwe family is happy to welcome Mrs. Mpange–the pastor’s wife of the local church where VOH children and moms attend. She will be working in the administration as a receptionist and we are blessed to have her!

VOH Kitwe Water System

At VOH Kitwe, we are excited to share that we have a natural water system installed! We received a donation from a friend of VOH Kitwe in Manitoba, Canada to re-dig and install a 10,000 litres water tank. This comes at a time when enough water is needed for the agriculture programmes in the youth empowerment.

We are so grateful for this gesture and know this will go a long way to save on the cost of water from the local water company. In the package of this blessing we have a tank, a tower, and a booster pump and an electrical pump, as shown in the photo. This water will supplement the water from the school bore hole and from the local water company!

Professional Athlete Visits VOH Malawi

We are blessed with former Malawi national team professional player Chancy Gondwe, who is now the pastor of a local church and is doing sport evangelism! He has an interest in teaching our children how to grow their relationship with God and be good men and women in sport.

Meet Namushi and Rose

Everyone at VOH Mongu are so excited that our third children’s home is getting filled with beautiful children in need of a family.

Meet Namushi (Right) and Rose (left) who recently joined our home. When Namushi met Rose for the first time she knew they would be sisters. Once she realized the only clothes Rose owned was the old dress she was wearing, she didn’t hesitate to get her the nicest dress in her cupboard and gave it to Rose to put on. They are now both attending school in Kindergarten and loving their new family.

VOH Mwanza Graduates

On October 17th VOH Mwanza celebrated with our Grade 7 and Form 4 Graduates at their Graduation Ceremony. It was a joyful celebration filled with music and dances and various presentations by the students.

We are so proud of our graduates for working hard in their studies and making it to this special day. Our Class 7 students will now have the next couple of months to rest and prepare for Secondary school in the new year and our Form 4 graduates will be making decisions about what is next for them after hearing their exam results.

Congratulations once again to all of our Graduates, we are very proud of you and excited for what the future holds!

VOH Zimbabwe Sport Champions

VOH Zimbabwe school took part in a district ball games competition and struck Gold in three categories: Girls and Boys Volleyball as well as Girls Netball team.

Each team won its respective five games played to proceed to provincial competitions, both as winners and as district representatives!
