The Boxes of Love arrive at VOH!

news - Boxes of Love Collage

It is always an exciting time when the Boxes of Love arrive at Village of Hope, and there is a specific ritual that takes place:

First the boxes are handed out to the children, then the children sit down and they sing songs while beating the boxes like African drums until everyone has a box and they hold the boxes high above their heads and then it’s a “free for all” when they are finally told it’s time to open! It’s such a fun scene to watch and everyone gets really excited!

We would like to thank everyone who is involved with making the Boxes of Love happen – they are a blessing to so many children!

VOH Zimbabwe Receives Donation of Blankets

VOH-Zimb blanket donation

This winter is proving to be a cold one in Zimbabwe and we needed more blankets for the VOH children. This week Mrs Zowa received a call from the local social service office. They had chosen us to receive goods from ZIMRA (Zimbabwe Revenue Authority) from the border post at Beitbridge some 570kms from Harare.
Within a few hours we had made a plan to go collect them and we were very happy to receive 52 good quality blankets as well as other clothing items including shoes vests dresses and even maternity dresses!
