Julie Visits VOH Burundi

voh burundi teacher visitor

Last week at VOH Burundi we were blessed to receive a visitor from England. Julie is a teacher visiting Burundi and heard about the work we do and wanted to pay a visit. We had a lot of fun together, playing games and singing, and before leaving Julie said a prayer for all of the children. It is encouraging and exciting for the children and staff when we receive special visitors!

Update from Save a Life Centre

save a life centre

Save a Life Center at VOH Mongu always follows up on discharged babies and their mothers with house visits to make sure the baby and mom are both doing well. This past week we had the privilege of meeting four generations of women in the family that we visited. The great great grandmother to baby Debora, both grandmothers, and Baby Debora’s mom. The whole family was happy to be together and delighted to see how well baby Debora is doing since recently being discharged from the clinic.

Library Cleaning at VOH Kenya

voh kenya library cleaning
This week VOH Kenya students helped the school principal clean out and organize the school library. The library currently consists mostly of academic books for each grade. Dawn Ellwyn, who is working with the Okellos at the Village, is returning to Canada this summer to do some promoting and fundraising so that she will be able to purchase and transport a variety of reading materials and fill the new library up with a picture books, novels, reading level books, atlases, study-help books, board games, and many other things that are usually found in a children’s library!
Teachers and students alike are excited to be able to add a library class to their schedule where they can read and learn together!
