Stories from Save a Life Center

Monday 2 - mongu save a life news

Meet Kanunga from VOH Mongu. Sadly, Kanunga’s mother has been too ill to care for her or to breastfeed her since giving birth, so her aunty and granny have been caring for her for the past few months. They all live together with the rest of their family in a traditional reed home. The aunty farms in the flood plains to help provide financially for the entire family. However they been unable to purchase the expensive formula milk Kanunga needs to gain weight, grow and develop properly as a baby.

We are happy to admit her to the Save A Life program and watch her life change through proper nutrition and care!

Community Outreach at VOH Kitwe

Thursday 1 - kitwe news

Peter, the young man wearing the black shirt in the back row, is one of the VOH Kitwe young adults. He is 17 years old and in grade 10.
Peter recently came back from visiting some friends with a real desire to organize community outreach to Racecourse, the shanty compound where VOH Kitwe is located. When Peter was asked why he wants to lead this outreach program, he shared that while he was visiting his friends he found that he was able to use all of the things that he learned living at Village of Hope and attending the VOH school Chapel to join in the outreach programs that the church he visited was involved in.

He was so excited, as soon as he came back home he mobilized his friends to start a similar program!
