Teacher’s Training at VOH Mongu

The VOH Mongu teachers had a training day last week. The day was spent with sessions on child discipline, English instruction, and Math instruction. The teachers especially enjoyed learning how to use some of the new materials donated through the Boxes of Love, including solving sudoku puzzles and unifix cubes.

VOH Kitwe Grade Six Students’ Class Project

VOH Kitwe - grade six

The Grade 6 students at VOH Kitwe had a great time during their Creative Technology Studies class last week. While studying design and construction their assignment was to go outdoors, find different examples of design and construction and draw them. They spread out across the whole Village and had a great time drawing and then going back to the classroom to compare and discuss what they had found!

Prepping for the School Year at VOH Malawi

It was a busy week at VOH-Malawi prepping for school to begin. This is some of our staff helping to sort through books and put the newly painted library into order for the kids to enjoy!

Gardening Success at VOH Mwanza!

The VOH-Mwanza boys are busy tending to their home’s garden. Gardens started a few months ago are now regularly producing an abundant supply of greens to meet the vegetable diet for all the children here at VOH!

Preparing Meals at VOH Kenya

It’s the children’s first week back at school and what’s on the menu at VOH-Kenya? Hardy and healthy beans, maize, and dagga (small sardine-like fish). This is what it looks like to feed approximately 270 children! We are blessed to have a dedicated and caring kitchen staff at Village of Hope Academy!

Knitting Lessons at VOH Mongu

Over the past couple of weeks, the VOH-Mongu mothers, Charity and Florence, have been teaching the children how to knit. The children are now spending much of their days knitting bags, skirts, and even hats for the younger children. They have caught on quickly to this skill and it is evident how proud they are of their work!
