Mongu: New School Uniforms!

Our Secondary School at VOH Mongu was so excited to receive new school uniforms this week! The students helped decide what colours and patterns they wanted and then we were able to get them made here in Mongu for those in Grades 8, 9 and 10. The students are really happy to have brand new uniforms and are taking very good care of them!

Burundi: Meet our Team!

VOH Burundi is happy to introduce you to our team who are looking after the children under our care at the new VOH Maramvya location. We have an Administrator, Nadine, two Preschool teachers, an auntie, who is in charge of preparing breakfast for the children before they attend school, and one security guard.

We are thankful for this great team and we look forward to expanding the ministry of VOH Burundi to reach more children in need!

Chongwe: Hope for Evaristo!

We would like to share the life-changing story of Evaristo with you this week. Evaristo is a single orphan we reached out to through our daily feeding program at VOH Chongwe. He lives with his 2 siblings and his widowed mother who earns a living by crushing stones along the side of the road that leads to VOH Chongwe. Life has been very hard for Evaristo and his family. His mother has been unable to send him to a government school because she is required to buy school supplies and pay fees for him to attend.

Today, Evaristo has joined our school and his life is forever changed. we want to thank our sponsors and faithful partners for making it possible!

Kitwe: Preparing for Preschool!

At VOH Kitwe, the moms in our children’s homes are working with the under 5-year-olds to prepare them for Preschool and Kindergarten. Together they spend time enjoying practical activities such as drawing, making crafts, singing, and learning how to play well with one another. This special time they share together will make their transition to starting school easier and the practice is lots of fun for everyone!

Malawi: Paper Planes!

This week at VOH Malawi the grade ones were having lots of fun learning to build and fly paper airplanes. They had the chance to build their own paper airplanes in school and then after class, they took them outside to see whose would travel the furthest. It only took a little practice before they had their planes zooming all over. It was a lot of fun for the kids and the adults, too!

Mwanza: Youth Baptisms

At VOH Mwanza we were happy to see eight of our youth recently make the decision to be baptized in water. They were part of a baptism service at our local partner church, Mwanza Pentecostal Church. We are thankful for the decision they have made to follow Jesus and we pray He will continue to guide them in all their decisions.
